Bush walking mainly in South East Tasmania, and the odd walk in other parts of the state, as well as the occasional snippet of something else Tasmanian.
I took a couple of friends up to Handsome Caves today and a little further beyond up to the plateau on top. It was a good little walk on a nice day. See previous post here for more details. We used a slightly different route up top than last time but the majority was much the same.
Distance: 8.7 kms.
Time: 3'49"
Ascent: 512 metres
Hello Dennis I am interested in checking out this walk. Can you advise of the best route that would be a loop back to Back River Road and where parking would be available. Cheers Wayne Goodwin
Hi Wayne, the route that would loop back to Back River Road is a continuation of the track I followed on a post dated 22nd October 2014 (Click on the link at the start of this post). I turned around on the boundary of the conservation area and private property but if you keep following that road it comes to a switch back track that goes down to Back River Road and not far from the starting point. I have not walked this section but see the comment on that post. Parking is available at the start of the walk. Cheers Denis
