Twilight Tarn

Saturday 22nd April 2017

Twilight Tarn
It was a dreary old day and the weather forecast was not great but we headed off anyway to walk out to Twilight Tarn from Lake Dobson with the aim of dropping in to Platypus Tarn and Lake Seal on the way. As it turned out the day was quite good and even though it was overcast all day, we experienced no rain at all.
We set off and immediately spotted a couple of furry friends grazing beside Lake Dobson. It was then on to the Pandani Grove track, past Eagle Tarn and on to the Lake Webster track. Shortly we came across the Platypus Tarn turnoff and headed down to the tarn which was a nice peaceful spot. The reflections on the water were magnificent.

After this it was back up to the track and on to Lake Seal which also had a glassy appearance as there was no wind at all.

After finding a few good rocks to sit on for lunch we walked back along the track to the car.
A very good walk in the alpine country with great scenery.
